The song reminds me of suicide. It sounds like someone who has overdosed (possibly in a pact - "would you lie with me?") thelyric "and just forget the world." is a statement of resignation of what is happening/is to come. But the real give away, at least for me, are the following lyrics... "Forget what we're told Before we get too old Show me a garden that's bursting into life (statement of bitter irony or sarcasm) All that I am All that I ever was Is here in your perfect eyes, they're all I can see (because his vision is fixed because he is dying or has just died.) I don't know where Confused about how as well Just know that these things will never change for us at all..." (This last line clarifies what has happened - it is to late to change what has happened. They are dead.) This song destroys me every time I listen to it. I KNOW most people thing it is ahappy uplifting song but I simply can't interpret it that way. :( |
