Side note: I reached out to Erin not long after I posted this and asked her about the lyrics meaning. She shared a story with me about a friend leaving the country and how those emotions stirred her to want to get away to nature and reflect on the value of life, etc. MUCH of what I communicated here in this analysis she relayed to me as well. @[April_Showers24:21262] Hey April, I actually wrote to Susan Enan and asked her about the inspiration for the song. She was rather vague in her response but basically indicated that she had a friend who was moving back to Scotland because he expressed that there was too much city and he wanted to get back to nature. That became the catalyst. She didn't give me anything more to go on than that. I still feel the interpretation makes the most sense. Thank you for chiming in. :-) Joe |
