The popularity of hair bands was finally fading (rockers with their long, curly locks / goodnight to the rockenroll era). I think SM was describing a scene outside a show and maybe reflecting on how much that scene had changed in a short period of time. |

Sounds to me like the thoughts of someone reflecting on the lengths they've gone to keep a lover that doesn't want to be kept. The singer is despondent at seeing the object of their desire with another lover and has gone to great pains to find a reason to stay a part of this person's life. Or the singer is stalking the person after they've moved on. Haunting and lovely song. |
