Breton – Got Well Soon Lyrics 8 years ago
No, it's not about finding fame.

It's a song about a drug dealer, that's selling to someone that isn't sure if they're in or out, as they've already been caught with drugs.

The drug dealer thinks the persons anecdotes about moving house is boring, but despite that says "It's your choice" if they want the drugs or not. The person ultimately decides to buy some, to which the dealer says "Don't get found out again."

José González – Crosses Lyrics 8 years ago
"Don't you know that I'll be around to guide you, through your weakest moments, to leave them behind you."

That sounds like what a father would do for their son, or daughter.

"Returning nightmares.
[They're] only shadows (They're not real).
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright.
We'll cast some light and you'll be alright, for now."

This depicts a very vivid scenario. Of a father coming to the aid of his son, who is having nightmares.... Re-assuming him that it's just a nightmare, and that it's not real. Telling him not to worry, that he'll just cast some light, and you'll be alright. Along with the ominous "for now," as nightmares are the least of your worries in life.

Next he sings about "Crosses", or the burdens that his son (or daughter) will have in their life. And each time that the child has more "Crosses" growing up, he always comes to help his child. It always ends with a "Don't worry, we'll cast some light and you'll be alright." Just like it was having nightmares as a small child. Because that's just how far a parent's love extends. That's just what they do.

Daughter – Numbers Lyrics 8 years ago
She's literally describing the club scene, and hook up culture, and is deeply unsatisfied, unfulfilled, emotionally disconnected and empty, and even frustrated with the whole thing.

"Chemically laced faces."
Everyone is drunk, their faces dulled by the booze. Making the social interactions clumsy and unfulfilling.

"Black out nights, and tight spaces."
The clubs themselves. Too dark to see much, and quite cramped.

"We'll feel distant embraces."
We'll share something only resembling love, but a fake sub-par version.

"Stretching hands 'round my waist, yeah."
The 'Yeah' is sarcastic. As in 'Yay, this is as good as it gets.'

"I wish my mouth would still taste you."
Any sexual encounter is forgettable, unfulfilling and found wanting.

"You better make me (feel) better."
"Found someone to mend you."
"I feel numb."
This is a wish. You take yet another person home, for sex. With the hope that it will make you feel better. But it doesn't work that way. Yes you get what you want, but it doesn't fulfil you, it instead makes you feel numb.
