This song is really clever. It starts out with a kick drum that sounds like the hard-to-integrate, free kicks on Fruity Loops, then the second layer starts and blends the kick perfectly. Then the other layers are added sequentially to produce an (unexpectedly) cohesive sound. Your first impression of the song is effectively flipped on it's head- the composition is a juxtapose to the initial expectation. Also, the lyrics- they kinda speak as if from an Aspergian perspective- where the world doesn't make sense, the speaker is kinda lost in the constructs of society and is only integrated briefly (until "the drugs wear off"). So the melodic composition itself is a reflection of this sense of being misunderstood and misjudged. Whether or not that was the intention, it is brilliance to me. |
