@[bucknut1998:20940] I like your theory, it's actually well thought out. But I don't believe it started out bad. I believe he went into the realtionship great, but it then turned bad. He wants to travel back to the night they met so he can relive that perfect night. The night that made him want to be with her in the first place. But he doesn't just want to relive that night, he does want to stop himself from going down that road. "And then I can tell myself Not to ride along with you" I think this song is about, all in all, about how he met this girl one night and they went on. She ended up leaving him. Broken heart, he doesn't know what to do. "I've been searching for a trail to follow again Take me back to the night we met" He wants to go back to the night they met so he can see her when she did love him. When she had those feelings for him. When he had all of her. He is always haunted by the good memories they had. He remembers the great times they had together and realizes he will never have those again. "I don't know what I'm supposed to do Haunted by the ghost of you" Once he gets back to the night they met, after he see what he wants, he is going to, not warn himself, but tell himself not to "go down that road." He is going to tell him that it will only hurt him and that he should stay away. |
