| Cage the Elephant – Cigarette Daydreams Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| I believe that this song is about getting over a past. Based off the music video released, this also helped me come to this conclusion. In the video, there is signs of sexual abuse, and a girl going somewhat crazy. You can see her smiling and crying throughout different parts of the video. In the song,he basically narrates this happening. At the end of the video, she burns a car, with herself inside. Essentially saying that she had to "burn" away her past in order to heal. "You can drive all night looking for the answers in the pouring rain" is basically her fighting herself up until the moment where she burns the car. In all, this song I believe is about healing from a rough past. | |

I think that there is a deeper meaning to this song than just a girl going missing. I believe that it is about a girl who becomes depressed but at one point was happy and joyful. Also perhaps he somehow had something to do with this happening. The girl was happy but then becomes sad as the lyrics say "watched your laughter turn to tears then You vanished in thin air". Her normal joyful personality is now gone. He asks "how long will we let it go?" Meaning how long is this depression going to last, and when is she going to come back? Also he says "has melancholy taken you for good? you know that I would save you if I could" which is when he is asking her if she is gone forever, into this depression, and he says that he wishes he could help her. Toward the end he says "I'm sorry love, for all of the damage done" this implies that perhaps he made her feel depressed, or took some sort of light from her eyes, most likely unintentionally. It is likely that he his also depressed, and originally liked her because she was happy, then he maybe showed her his depression and it also made her depressed. He apologizes to her, perhaps to say that he didn't mean to make her feel this way, he just wanted to be close to her, as he says " I only hope to one day be back beside you" The refrain also says " I want you back" meaning that he misses when she was happy and he is telling her that he wants her to be happy again. The missing person posters represent the idea that he is looking for the happy part of her, but cannot seem to find it anymore. (Side note: I apologize for my evidence being out of order) |

| The Lumineers – Where the Skies Are Blue Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| Personally I can connect to this song. In my opinion it is about a person who is in love with someone who wanted the narrator of the song to change for them. However, they didn't end up sticking around for the narrator. The narrator of the song is basically saying that they would have changed for them. Even now they say "you can always find me where the skies are blue" meaning that if they every change their mind, the narrator is willing to take them back. | |
