It's fairly straightforward, really. It's about the "Teddy Boys" who were popular in Great Britain during the late 50's and early 60's. They were known for causing trouble and being violent, and Lord Invader suggests the beatings with the cat o' nines for them. I adore all the social commentary in calypso songs. Calypso really is the predecessor to modern rap. |
