For me, this song is about a guy who's best friend killed himself and he's explaining the story to someone. He's telling them what he sould have done or what he could have done to prevent his friend from committing suicide. I think he also feels guilty about it because he did not help his friend the way he wanted to. |

For me, this song is about a man who thinks he's not good enough for his girlfriend and he tells her that he's got nothing special. That superman's had power and Achilles had gold or Hercules had gifts, but him, he's not special in any way so why did she chose him? And that's why she says "I'm not looking for somebody with some superhuman gifts", because she doesn't care that her boyfriend got "nothing special" he's special enough for her. So to prove it to him she says "Were'd you wanna go? How much you wanna risk?" like for her. And he says that the only thing he wants is "Something just like this". That what he's got right now is and always will be more than enough for him. |

I think Mr. Brightside isn't about a jealous guy or a prostitute. I think it's about 2 people who broke up and the girl moved on, but the guy is still in love with her. And he keeps picturing her with other guys that's why he says "but it's all in my head". And the "it was only a kiss" Is the first time the kissed him and her, he didn't think that it could go this far and feel so hurt after their relationship ended. |

I hate that everybody think this song is cliché because for me it's really more about than Romeo and Juliet. I think that this song is about a guy who is in love with this girl Juliet and she wants to be with him, but something is pulling her away. Anyways, this song is my favorite and it gives hope when I need some. |
