The Script – The Man Who Can't Be Moved Lyrics 8 years ago
The opening lines of the first stanza set the scene of a man who is determined to regain the woman he lost, with undying faith that she will come back to him. It says:

Going back to the corner where I first saw you
Gonna camp in my sleeping bag, I’m not gonna move
Got some words on cardboard, got your picture in my hand
Saying, “If you see this girl, can you tell her where I am?” (1-4)

These lyrics can surely be taken literally, but it can also be taken symbolically. This represents him not wanting to move on and still hoping she’ll come back to him. He’s living in the part of his life when they were happy together, in case she finds herself loving him again. Evidence of this is in the first two lines of the next stanza. “Some try to hand me money, they don’t understand / I’m not broke - I’m just a broken-hearted man” (5-6). What these lines explicitly say is that people think he’s homeless and try to help him. However, these lines are actually about people trying to engage him in life when he doesn’t want to. “I know it makes no sense but what else can I do? / How can I move on when I’m still in love with you?” (7-8). He doesn’t want to change yet, and he doesn’t want to move on. He wants to wait because she might wake and find that she’s missing him, and because he doesn’t know else to do (9).
