As far as Pixies songs go, this one's fairly politically charged in my opinion. It's a vision of the post-apocalyptic future that we're causing for ourselves. Once that happens, the snakes (and other creatures) will all be there to come in and take over what was once our civilization, and there will be nothing we can do about it. Also, I must add the "one more blast and then we're dry" is such a great line, and only the way Francis can do it - aggressively sexually suggestive and simultaneously cryptic. |
