| My Chemical Romance – The Jetset Life Is Gonna Kill You Lyrics | 21 years ago |
it's part of the "demolition lovers" concept, but from the perspective of the man looking over the woman while she's still on earth. it's a concept album, kids. |

| Brand New – Play Crack the Sky Lyrics | 22 years ago |
i had that exact impression. when i first heard this song, all i kept thinking was "counting crows." i think i remember hearing this song is about growing up on long island. if you think of it that way, it makes a lot of sense. "i spoke the words but never gave a thought to what they all could mean." this whole song sounds to me like a retrospect on first love and the ability to understand it only looking back, rather than being in it. |

| My Chemical Romance – Vampires Will Never Hurt You Lyrics | 22 years ago |
| if anyone happens to own the my chemical romance shirt with the red james dean graphic, it has the entire part he whispers at the end written on it. i remember it also being on the splash of the mcr site. | |

| Taking Back Sunday – Great Romances of the 20th Century Lyrics | 23 years ago |

| The Used – On My Own Lyrics | 23 years ago |
i think the reference to the people on the ground isn't about dead people, but rather his perspective on the world from the top. he talks about being on the top of the world a lot. that infinite feeling when everything seems to be working out, but you eventually realize that you can't control anything but yourself. and i could be completely wrong. |
| Brand New – Soco Amaretto Lime Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this is every word in my head about growing up that i can't get out. | |
| Taking Back Sunday – Timberwolves at New Jersey Lyrics | 23 years ago |
| this song is my life. | |
| Glassjaw – Everything You Ever Wanted To Know About Silence Lyrics | 23 years ago |
this song is glassjaw at perfection. just the line "i'm the matador of the children's ward" gives off such an image. daryl just being the oldest kid (he wrote this song at eighteen, i'm pretty sure) in the pediatric ward, ushering in all the problems that come along with the world, in a place that's supposed to feel safe and protected. all the religious imagery in this song is gorgeous. such a feeling of place. and the line "i feel a roar having just been mugged..." just appeared to me like it may have to do with the girl this entire cd is about (the "lion") attacking him in a time where he is most vulnurable and had everything taken away from him. and i'm so done being a high school english teacher. ahem. |
