| @[Ignoreland:40166]\r\nHmm, seems like the lyrics got reverted to the old messed up ones when they got licensed, and they can\'t be fixed because the licensing requires approval from the licensor who doesn\'t really care if 3rd party sites have accurate lyrics on them. So I\'ll just repost the proper(ish) ones here.\r\n----------------------\r\nYour LIES!\r\n\r\nYeah...\r\nI didn\'t think that I had a debt to pay\r\n\'Til they came to take all I had left away\r\nYou said you wouldn\'t put me to the test today\r\nBut I remember you saying that yesterday\r\nThere was a time when your mind wasn\'t out of control\r\nEvery memory and confession pouring out of your soul\r\nLike a pill you couldn\'t swallow, and it swallowed you whole\r\nAnother lie, hard to follow, \'til it followed you home\r\nAnd like that\r\nBroken down, a victim of your-\r\nLIES!\r\n\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou don\'t know why\r\nYou\'ve crossed the line\r\nWrapped up inside your lies\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou\'re lost inside that cold disguise\r\nBehind your lies\r\n\r\nI don\'t know what you thought I might say\r\nSeems like we never were taught the right way\r\nEvery other minute I fought for my place\r\nAnd dropped what I made and thought you might stay\r\nSo, I\'m guessing that you probably know\r\nWhen your inside\'s hollow then you ought to be cold\r\nLike a pill I couldn\'t swallow, and it swallowed me whole\r\nAnother lie, hard to follow, \'til it followed me home\r\nAnd like that\r\nBroken down, a victim of your-\r\nLIES!\r\n\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou don\'t know why\r\nYou\'ve crossed the line\r\nWrapped up inside your lies\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou\'re lost inside that cold disguise\r\nBehind your lies\r\n\r\nYou\'re faking, you\'re mistaken\r\nIf you think that you can climb out of this hole\r\nForsaken, what we take when\r\nAll the lies are overpowered by the truth\r\nBroken down, a victim of your\r\nLIES!\r\n\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou don\'t know why\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou don\'t know why\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou don\'t know why\r\nYou hide behind-\r\nWrapped up inside your lies\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou don\'t know why\r\nYou\'ve crossed the line\r\nWrapped up inside your lies\r\nYou hide behind lies\r\nYou\'re lost inside that cold disguise\r\nBehind your lies | |
| Sting – Epilogue (Nothing 'Bout Me) Lyrics | 4 years ago |
| The US version of "Ten Summoner's Tales" only has 11 tracks on it, with this being the last one. Now, knowing that 'summoner' was a play on Sting's surname (Sumner), and this song being the 11th and final track (the epilogue), it seemed to me that this song was intended as a sort of foil to the rest of the album. Sort of like "Oh, you thought those 10 songs were autobiographical, did you? Ha! I'm a performer, I sell fantasy!" | |
| Blue Öyster Cult – Stairway To The Stars Lyrics | 5 years ago |

"These lyrics are available via license. Due to copyright requirements, we are unable to immediately edit these lyrics. Any changes made to these lyrics will be passed to the licensor for approval. Unfortunately, we cannot always guarantee these changes will take place." It'd be nice if the licensor actually checked that the lyrics were for the correct song before locking them down. Even a google search returns the wrong lyrics as the first result because these errors go uncorrected. Anyway, the proper lyrics are as follows: You can have my autograph I think I'll sign it "love to you" But should I sign it just for you? Stairway to the stars! Think I'll write, "good health to you" Stairway to the stars! We got better things to do You can drive my motorcar It's insured to thirty thou Kill them all if you wish Stairway to the stars! Think I'll write, "good health to you" Stairway to the stars! We got better things to do Mow 'em down now! You can have my autograph I think I'll sign it "good health to you" Upon the cast your broken arm Stairway to the stars! I think I'll write, "good health to you" Stairway to the stars! I hope you heal up real quick Stairway to the stars! Stairway to the stars! Stairway to the stars! Stairway to the stars! Come on, let's get on outta here |

@[superfreak30328:35376] Yes, it's on the CD version too. It's roughly 10 minutes of carnival sounds, mainly a calliope, with one last guitar chord at the very end. As for what it means, that's anybody's guess. |

| Local H – Creature Comforted Lyrics | 5 years ago |
| I think the mystery lyric might be "cellphone nation". I'm just not sure whether it fits with the time frame of when this song was released (2002). I know cell phones existed in the '90s, but I'm just not sure how prevalent they were overall to warrant the phrase. But then, I lived in a more rural area at the time, so perhaps we were just late adopters because we lacked the infrastructure to support them sooner. | |

| Black Sabbath – Supernaut Lyrics | 7 years ago |

Not sure what happened here, since reading the comments seems to show that the proper lyrics were being shown at some point. The end of the first verse should say "And find the dish that ran away with the spoon", referring to the nursery rhyme. The lines in the second verse should be "I found the plastic at the golden rainbow's end" and "I've lived a thousand years and never found the key" |

| Filter – So I Quit Lyrics | 7 years ago |
| Are these the proper lyrics? It sounds to me like he's saying "You got the needle" which could have a twofold meaning, referring to intravenous drugs (something commonly associated with whores and the hood) as well as being sentenced to lethal injection as a result of repeated violent offenses which might have escalated from small slights: "Try to take something from me motherfucker? You're gonna fuckin' die you piece of shit!" | |
| Within Temptation – Caged Lyrics | 8 years ago |

I've always heard the lyrics slightly differently; "Sorrow's frozen my mind" sounds like "Sorrow always grows in my mind" Probably because I dealt with depression in high school and it's really easy for it to spiral out of control with a bad thought. "My heart is covered with thoughts entangled" sounds like "My heart is covered in thorns and tangles" draws from my attraction to gothic imagery and the fact that I started playing Magic: The Gathering around the same time I discovered Within Temptation. In MTG, The Tangle is a forest made of thorny spire-like structures. |

Kind of surprised the lyrics were still so rough, considering this came out a decade ago. Granted it's from an LPU album so it probably didn't come with a lyric sheet like full albums usually do, but as big as LP is I'd think some fans would have taken the time to figure it out and fix it by now. Anyway, I think I've got them corrected now. Only ones I'm not certain of are: "Seems like we never were taught the right way" The previous version said "Seems like we never would talk the right way" which doesn't make much sense, but my guess is only slightly better. (I think it's 'taught' because the narrator* recognizes that he and the person he's talking about both come from broken/dysfunctional homes so they don't really know what good/stable relationships look like.) "Every other minute I fought for my place" The previous lyric said "Every other minute I'm far from my place" and it could really go either way, but I went with 'fought' because it fits with my interpretation* that he's fighting to make the relationship work. "And dropped what I made and thought you might stay" It's just the "dropped what I made" part that I'm unsure of because it doesn't seem to line up with anything else, contextually. *My overall interpretation is that the song is about a relationship that isn't working out because it's built on deception and pretending to be something you aren't. The narrator is trying to make it work, but is frustrated that the other person is constantly telling lies. |
