Disciple – Regime Change Lyrics 8 years ago
This song is about dying to your old self (To sin, your flesh) and then changing to have Christ be placed on the throne of your mind.

"I dance the mockery, a theme of decadence" - Is about living a life that is unfulfilling, you're going through the motions and it's fake. It's a mockery. "A theme of decadence" is referring to the cultural decline, and the decline within your own mind.

"Scene of complacency, an apathetic mind
But when it's brought to light, I see a king on a borrowed throne."
This is talking about how the devil uses us, but then when we bring our faults into the light-- we see a "King on a borrowed throne", the throne does not belong to Satan, it belongs to Christ-- and then the "Regime Change" is replacing Satan with Christ, replacing the things of this world-- with the things of God.

"This time, regimes are changing in my mind"

I think this song really speaks to anyone who has struggled, or is struggling with any kind of sin or addiction. Because "Regime Change" is a very good description of what it feels like is happening in your own mind. You are caught between the pull of the world and your flesh, and the what God has called you to be. While you are in the struggle of trying to ultimately place Christ on the throne-- there is a battle going on within your mind. I think that is where the "the violence taking over" line comes in... because it is a battle without physical weapons. A spiritual one, in your own mind.
