I think this song is about when Nick left Get Scared and came back, and that haters that didn't enjoy him coming back into the band and hated him for his suicide attempt and stuff like that. For example in the chorus, "The worst is over" (his suicidal thoughts) "my eyes are open" (he feels better now but he still hears and sees people talking about it) "they can say whatever, they can say whatever they want" (how the haters can hate on him for coming back to the band or in general not like the band) "Tonight I'm not coming undone" maybe he feels like he's gonna take whatever people say to them and not let it get to him and he'll show up no matter what) And in the next verse it says "I won't forget the ones who pulled me out when I was at my worst" may reflect to Craig Mabbitts of ETF for saving his life and to his band for always being their for him. And again it says "my skin is so much thicker now" (may mean he doesn't get hurt as easily or tries not to anyway and that he's stronger now) Finally to the bridge part when he states, "No turning back, I see it all infront of me. Forget the past their is no way that I'd ever leave." I think this means that he would never leave Get Scared again, and he wish he never had in the first place. He's saying he wish he could turn back time and not leave the band for his ex wife. He just regrets doing that. This however is my own opinion and what I imagine the song is about, you don't have to agree because every song means something different to each person. Thanks for reading, have a nice day. |

| As other people say in the comments, I think it is somewhat about Christians. For example, how goths and emos dress some people judge them for how they look and automatically think they worship satin or whatever. I think he may also be saying that no matter how we look, what are sexuality is, what are religion is, we are all people with feelings, and we can get hurt to. As NOT all Christians are bad though, some believe just because of someone's music taste they are terrible people, and say that they will go to hell for what they did or just what they wear. But their are other Christians,who I like to think are the true Christians because they don't care what you look like, how you act, and they won't even judge you. They only judge your personality, like if you are a kind person or not. I believe that is what Christianity is all about. So if god is real, I hope that his message is to never judge anybody. To state this out their, every song has its own different meaning to somebody. So nobody is right or wrong, it's what the song means to them, even if that is not what MIW wrote about.
