Redbone – We Were All Wounded at Wounded Knee Lyrics 8 years ago
@[baziz:19491] Great song! Pat Vegas the bassist in the band wrote this song w/ a friend of his~ he tells in one interview ~to commemorate the occupation of Wounded Knee by American Indian Movement (AIM) activists in 1973. He said the news was covering it, to paraphrase, very anti-AIM, and he wanted to remind the public of the history of the massacre at Wounded Knee, where U.S. troops killed so many Native Americans. They massacred Sioux too. "We all," certainly means all Native/ Indigenous peoples in the U.S.; since this is how the U.S. was built; upon the genocide of Native/ Indigenous peoples.
