She's lonely, she's had bad experiences with guys before and she's emerged back onto the dating scene after a respite from disappointments. And she meets the guy of her "dreams" who turns out to be the guy of her nightmares. It's a perfect portrait of a narcopath. They're incredibly charming and convince you that they're perfect for you in the beginning. Then they start lying, gaslighting, triangulating, marginalizing,...and using all of the hallmark covert manipulation tactics of dark triad personalities. The song is brilliant. |

It's a perfect portrait of a narcopath; someone who is a psychopath, sociopath or narcissist. And it is absolutely spot-on from beginning to end. Professors should use this song to explain the dark triad personality traits. Rollins is a genius. |
