"i'm married to you and this rode" why do you all take that line so literal?? he's not talking about about his wife. he's talking about the lifelong intimate relations that he always goes back to!! "another day inside my world" and he talks about his demons he's forced to keep, right?? but then his chorus takes over explaining how he shuts his pain out. i think of it as drugs, but it's kind of something that the audience can make their own. but he calls this home. a shelter. and he wants to be held, but he's alone and unsatisfied. and in this second verse he describes his trouble at home which leads him back to his shelter, where he feels protected...in the moment. this bridge is where it gets deep. and there could be thousands of ways to look at this. but this bridge section is showing us how he's yearning for this warm safe place, this satisfaction. he desires something that will hold him in his arms, and know that he's wanted. but his drugs, or even demons have too big of a grip, which takes him to the final chorus. |
