Well Karin said this is about her considering her retirement from music so that's that (though I did initially think it was about working with her brother). Maybe the first verse is Karin talking to herself, her creative self talking to her 'real life' self. "So, I lost my head a while ago/But you seem to have done no better" - she can't give up one side of herself and live as the other alone because she's realised that she's no better off now that she's tried that, both sides need to coexist. "We set fire in the snow" - making art out of real life problems, when both sides work together a source of heat is created where there was once cold, burning questions are brought to light? Then the rest of the song is a list of questions that are left unanswered for her, that inspire her, and that she needs to explore via music. Since they remain and she can still ask them, her work isn't over and she's not done. |
