| Paul McCartney – Band on the Run Lyrics

According to McCartney, this song was a hodge podge of many things, Paul said, that the band was robbed of all of their demo tapes, for the Band on the Run album, by some criminal. "Stuck inside these four walls", represents the small studio they were Stuck in to try, and recreate the stuff that was stolen. Apparently, "If we ever get out of here" was inspired by George Harrison during a meeting the Beatles were having with Apple. He was saying they were all in a way prisoners to Apple. McCartney said that Band on the Run son is a million things all put together. Escaping, freedom, criminals, it\'s all in the song. The drug busts bands of the 60\'s, and early 70\'s were also an inspiration for the song. This information can be found on the song\'s wiki page. Band On The Run (Song). |

I don't think this is a bad song. It brings back a lot of memories of when I was a kid. Not because we did any of the things in the song, but because it was played on the radio a lot in 1974 when it came out. Mainly in the summer prior to my Freshman year in High School. Everyone liked the song because of the music. It had a pretty good sound. Some of the words were misheard, like "Blue Sea Haze", which if you look the song lyrics up, they can't even agree if it's that or "Cool Sea Haze". I have to believe it's "Blue Sea Haze because it was heard by us as "Boozy haze", which also starts with a "B". Anyway, I digress. The main thing here is that this song is not a bad song. It's just one of those songs you eventually got tired of hearing because it was on the radio a lot. I like it because it reminds me of a time when I was younger and just having fun. |

@[victoryfields:36552] - you may already know but Randy left The Guess Who because they were at an impasse. Burton Cummings didnt think Randy was cool because he didnt do drugs and Randy had gall bladder issues he had to have surgery for to get resolved. During his recovery from surgery he started thinking maybe he should leave the band but Burton Cummings fired him before he could quit. The verse "you could've died now" is pretty much Randy telling Burton he could have died from taking drugs. But the whole song is pretty much a reference the where Burton Cummings of the Guess Who was at and how Randy succeeded without him. |

@[danny_Bfoss:18936] I don't think so but there is one song fact about this song that most people do not know. "The Ballad of John and Yoko" was the first UK release by the Beatles in Stereo. "Get Back" was the first in the US. |
