I agree with what JuneGloom said. I want to add that this sounds to me like a song to wrap up and put away the memories of being a drunken/alcoholic adolescent. It's about not knowing how to talk in the bedroom yet. The "ide" part is a nod to the French language which is in several Regina Spektor songs. It means "idea" and I think it has several meanings here such as how when having sex was just an idea when it's for the first time or how it can start with "I have an idea..." with someone new for the first time. Presenting ideas for something one wants to try in bed is something that requires maturity and practice talking about sex. I think the repeated "ide ide ide" is meant to symbolize the repeated noise one can make while being humped in a painful way. It also sounds like the beginning of a sentence during sex that keeps getting interrupted by some fucking person's mindless humping as in the sentence starter "I'd like..." Ultimately this is a song about a date rape because she is "so drunk" and no one can consent fully when so drunk. I think it was a very brave thing she did when she wrote it. |
