Weezer – Keep Fishin' Lyrics 8 years ago
Alright, this song is incredibly tough to decipher, because the tone of the song is hard to figure out, it is my belief the lyrics are dark, but eh message is uplifting, this is juxtaposed by the happy, Brit pop, almost "Beatles-esque" song, with its sunny guitar leads and fun feel, this is also odd when coupled with the tone of performances being that of Weezer having fun, which is my favorite part of it, besides the intro and outro on the single release, but I digress, let's get to the song
It is important, however, to maintain the though process of this being from Maladroit, as that album and Green both have a distinct oddness and quirkiness to the lyrics.
"You'll never be
A better kind
If you don't
Leave the world behind "
This, to me, illustrates that whoever he's referring to in this song needs to let go of something in order to get better, somewhat vague, I know.
"Waste my days,
Drown aways "
"Drown away," typically, means to drown out or flush out something, in this case, a bad trait or series of negative traits affecting this person. "Waste my Days" relativity surface level, this person, in Rivers's mind, is wasting his days trying to aid them.
"It's just the thought of you
In love with someone else
It breaks my heart to see you hangin' from your shelf"
The thought of this person not loving Rivers is very unpleasant and emotional to think about, saying he's not giving up on this person, and not breaking up, as he loves them. The last line confuses a lot of people, so I'll make it simplified. It means he's upset someone isn't looking for a relationship, even though they should. The lyrics are still very sad, but it's not THAT dark.
The rest of the song, really, just repeats these themes of someone capable of searching for a relationship is near to him, and he wants to be closer with them, because he loves them.
So, yeah, that's my 2 cents, it's probably my 6th favorite Weezer song, so I thought I'd share my interpretation.

Metallica – King Nothing Lyrics 8 years ago
It's about greed, in essence. This song, in the context of James' life, is introspective, in this song James is "King Nothing." James, essentially, is stating that he always wants what he doesn't have, and in the end, this means he has nothing.
"Wish I may wish I might,
Have this I wish tonight"
James is wishing for something
"Are you satisfied?"
James questioning himself, saying "how much is enough" to himself
the next verse does much the same thing
"Dig for gold, dig for fame,
You dig to make your name"
James saying he wants money, he wants power, he wants to be famous, he craves media attention, this probably was why he was so arrogant during black album era
The chorus does the same thing, but one emphasized line
"Where's your crown king nothing?"
James king where his greed is rooted, or what he's gained, he also says "off to never never land" at the end, this is a reference to this occurring because of the hit success that is the black album, and the song's intentional similarity in order to drive home the point that the black album made him greedy

Metallica – Until It Sleeps Lyrics 8 years ago
I believe that this song is about James' mom's cancer (as evidenced by the description on load) and it's about how there are evil things inside of James. "No longer will you hurt anyone" this event probably led to James being a douche, which he was for a good bit of the 90s, and it follows the theme of bleeding me where James just wants to get out the bad. He tries to kill the bad inside him, to "wash off the dirt" and as a result he ends up fighting, but he doesn't know where to put it,so he takes it out on people close to him, this is probably why jason left, his mom died, and he had no control because there were no doctors, so he tried to control him to protect him,

@[ThrashAddict:18601] honestly, it is not, it touches on it and references the election, but it is much more a summation that asks if we are hardwired... to self destruct

Metallica – The Unforgiven III Lyrics 8 years ago
I'll make this as comprehensible as possible...
The "lost soul" in these songs is James
The Unforgiven is about a lost soul being beaten down by society, it talks about James' childhood and life until that point
The Unforgiven II is about that same lost soul finding another lost soul (James' wife probably) and how James feels is unforgiven in her eyes for what he's done
The Unforgiven III is about the original lost soul, still, he does not forgive himself now, this is probably about what occurred in the 90s for James, womanizing, temptation, drinking, drugs, and what happened with Jason leaving, and the events of Some Kind of Monster (documentary), and how he can't forgive himself
