This song is about the fact the way people aren't so honest about the way they are presenting themselves to others. Everyone has a mask that puts on face when walking out of house. Beneath that mask is a real person which we are ashamed to show, or because it's not the ''norm''. We try so hard to fit in that sometimes we forget who we really are. He spend time in solitude, he escaped from ''the norm'' and realized that everything is fake and if you are not fake you can't fit in the system.''Their primped plastic forms melt in the heat of the light'' But time will show sooner or later the real person behind that mask. The meaning of this song is simple. Some people are just born to go from place to place and don't want to settle down. And spending longer periods of time in one place, especially if it is a big town like L.A.( ''City of angels” of course refers to Los Angeles,where he lived). ''This easy living, it sure tastes good. Let's make a killing down in Hollywood, Then buy ourselves some nice, fancy home in the hills. Oh, spend our time spending ten dollar bills.'' this verse i find extremely sarcastic and ironic... Like he is mocking. ''You leave me far away from home.'' His home is everywhere, he can't stand to be caged. |

This song is about the fact that everything in life comes with something else. Sometimes we count on some things, but most of them we don't see coming and they are usually bad ones. If the thing is worth then no one can belittle it in your eyes, because it doesn't matter what other will say if it feels right. | @[MrGrunge:18281] I agree with you, White Buffalo deserves more attention...I agree with you about the meaning too I just want to add that maybe he cut the cord with other people and lost sense of reality of others and took time for facing his inner evil demons and he lost the fight... He is letting them rule now over him, but he is aware of his failure and that is causing him so much pain... He let down others, he let down his girl, he let down himself and he let down God... He wants to fix everything, he wants to make something great and good for others, but his hands are tied. That that poor boy has lost his way... | |
