Coheed and Cambria – Mother Superior Lyrics 1 year ago
@[bathorychild666:44198]
It’s a metaphoric suicide. If you self reflect to instances in your own life. Whining, crying, self doubt, etc etc, is useless, you’ll just “stay afraid.” By taking a leap of faith, or committing suicide to your weaker self, you will find your true self. It’s a “curse” that sees your lies, you’re no longer intrigued by childish things, you grow into an adult. Or something along those lines ;)

Aerosmith – Livin' On The Edge Lyrics 3 years ago
@[Tahreh:34977] I disagree that this song is overlooked, maybe its just your generation, but I do agree with the rest of your comment. This song is more prevalent today than in its time... due to social media and people's constant focus of posting an envy Olympics to make their small lives seem better on the internet. No one cares expect yourself of your accomplishments in life. I mean obviously your parents and close relatives do care, but your interpretations of such events is the only judge that matters in excelling your own life. They can tell you their proud of this or that, but ultimately, at the end of the day, the only true betterment out of such an experience is the personal aspiration that grows within yourself on an individual level... not making others envious of those accomplishments/events.

Aerosmith – Livin' On The Edge Lyrics 3 years ago
@[AbsentMinded:34976] "There's a bigger picture than the systems that are in place right now which control the masses of people, one where we all work together and nobody is better than the next man and everybody get's what they deserve....no more and no less."

We've tried this many times in the past, it requires a one partied government to accomplish, and leads to a way more inhumane society that the goals origin. It happens to end up this way, because people are not all equal, and its amoral to an individual's psyche to believe there is... I think this song is more about the evolution of entitlement. "There is something wrong with our eyes." The envy stemming from seeing your neighbor do better than you is growing, because everyone in their youth were handed participation trophies and were told they did just as good as the all-star that scored 3 goals a game. We're all becoming more and more poor sports at the game of life. Your life isn't worse off because your neighbor does better than you, that is a road to hell.

Rush – Tom Sawyer Lyrics 4 years ago
@[rushtroll2112:33192] Thanks for the good laugh! I felt myself angered at first, that the LGBTQ community could butcher the interpretation of this great song. God bless anyone in that mind state. And Socrates bless anyone who admires Rush for the greatness they are.

Nirvana – All Apologies Lyrics 4 years ago
Okay, here is my interpretation of "All Apologies" by Cobain. Kurt was a lot of things, and his music has helped me through a lot of times. I have similiar stomach issues he had, and his cynical-ism of the world is mostly due to thinking negatively and finding solutions through drugs... Loved the guy, but its great to learn from others mistakes also. Here goes,

"What else should I be
All apologies"
I think this is straight forward. He is asking himself, "what else should I be?" and apologizing to you or whoever might criticize that it's not good enough.

"What else could I say
Everyone is gay"
I believe this line is stating through everyone's life struggles, conflicting ideologies, etc, at the end of the day, everyone is pursuing happiness their best way known, given particular intelligent levels.

"What else could I write
I don't have the right"
This is my favorite line in the song. I could be wrong, it could mean various things, although I believe hes talking about God or religion. He'd love to speak his mind, but doesn't have the "right," due to freedom of religion, or being an outcast-ed zealot.

"In the sun
In the sun I feel as one
In the sun
In the sun
Married
Buried"
Great simplistic chorus. In the sun he feels as one. In happiness, at home, with Frances, etc he feels as himself, at peace. He is married happily, but buried by the responsibilities of marriage to the succubus' we know as women. Not sexist, but you know what I mean :).

"I wish I was like you,
Easily amused
Find my nest of salt
Everything's my fault"
I relate to this line very well, most people are happy living our materialistic existence, but he doesn't care about it. As we know, he didn't care for himself too much either. Thank god, I didn't get into drugs, because he clouded himself from the one thing that matters, "All you need is love." To be "normal," people need to find clicks, but in finding your friends or family, they are essentially salt, corroding the transcendental form of your being through materialism. Conflating the roots of what makes you, you. It is all your fault for allowing such a thing, but did he see a solution?

"I take all the blame
Aqua seafoam shame
Sunburn, freezer burn
Choking on the ashes of her enemy"
These lines are interesting. I can interpret it in many ways. I believe the aqua seafoam shame is a metaphor for staying afloat of life's stresses, but just barely being seafoam clinging to the surface of despair. Sunburn, freezer burn is like a double edge sword. ultra negative, or ultra possitive, you aren't winning doing either.

All in all is all we are.
Philosophy. Open to your own interpretation. This is too vague to put a number on it, I am not Kurt. We are all God's beings.

This is my first time writing about a song. I'm more of a person to not do this, as music should be interpreted as the listener sees fit, but please, feel free to comment below. Thanks.

The Beatles – Blue Jay Way Lyrics 5 years ago
I feel like this song has a deeper meaning than the outside story of losing friends and being alone. In all the verses of Please - don't - be - long, some of them are actually, - please, don't belong. As in a fear of losing individualism from a large city like L.A.s social influence. The socialist state and the need for police enforcement signifies the turmoil of losing one's self in such madness. The other Beatles were probably out partying in L.A. while George was back at a hotel tripping his face off writing this.
