This song cries out to be heard on headphones! The bass drum throughout the first part of the song represents a heart(beat) that is in danger of being broken from all those "lies". I also never noticed before but Lindsey's guitar picking in the left ear at the beginning follows a very similar melodic line as "Never Going Back Again" - only this time much more ominous. The subject matter of this song may be one of the broken heart "times" he mentioned in "Never Going Back Again." Forty years on, Rumours never fails to amaze me. |
