I think there's a definite metaphor for love being a drink he was drunk on. And as he's still pissed he wonders why his girl isn't so warm as she was. Maybe she's fallen out of love or was never really in the first place. Perhaps she had a love she misses. And after she's gone, he's left with his memories, now cold and sober himself. Or maybe. Intense passion kept the two together. And after waking up from the night sober from the initial thrill of romance, she grows cold. Him left alone cold and sober. |
