I'm surprised this doesn't have any other comments on it, it's one of the most powerful songs by Marina in my opinion. Marina's said in interviews she wrote this song back in london as she was writing the third album. She's said she would watch the news daily and became more and more sick of all the violence and chaos she witnessed through the television, and that's basically what the song is about. It's about the good and bad sides of humanity, and while we may seem like a first world high society, we still in some ways are still nothing but savages. With Donald Trump now as president, I think this song is VERY much relatable with current times tbh. |

I think the song itself is pretty self explanatory in the meaning. Marina's singing about a guy who she's just broken up with because she got bored of their relationship. However, she doesn't want to feel sad about losing him so she wants to have "one more night" with him despite knowing it's only for her own selfish intentions. Overall I think it's one of the funnest, upbeat, catchy tracks on Froot and one of my personal favorites. |

This song always makes me think the guy I first fell in love with. The song talks about feeling lost and forcing smiles and dancing alone until the mystery guy comes along and enchants her until she's blushing home to think about him constantly. After Clean on the 1989 record, this is my favorite song from her by far. It's just so relatable. We all have that one person that comes to mind when this comes on I think. I certainly remember hearing the "wishing you were at my door, I'd open up and say hey it was enchanting to meet you." and so understanding what she meant. |
