In my opinion, Corey wrote this song through the eyes of a drug addict's child, directly addressing his parent that is the addict. "The pity turns complacent....You are defeatist,.... I wouldn't change a fucking thing that you've done" is meaning the parent accepts failure and is complacent with being a terrible parent, and the child wouldn't change it if he could. Later into the song, the plot turns and the child becomes a drug addict "we are demeaning forever, a world that will never exist, always repeating.....we wouldn't change a fucking thing about this," meaning the cycle continues, as the narrator (the child) has his own children and fails them just like his parent did him. |

The two major interpretations seem to be heroin addiction and war with innocent people. The line "Heave the silver hollow sliver piercing through another victim" could mean a heroin needle or a bullet. I noticed that particular line people were having trouble with and I thought I'd put my opinion in :) |
