| Nate Ruess – Harsh Light Lyrics | 9 years ago |

So Nate has just broken up with his girlfriend, and he needs to get out, so he goes to a bar. The bar tender, too is in a bad mood, asking nate where he came from, his story. Nate can't cry anymore, he's done, so he goes out, and plans to stay out to keep his mind of things. Suddenly a girls walks in, and nate is attracted, but he is much too drunk already to do anything, and he doesn't necessarily want to hear about her day, or talk to her. IT's hard for him to sort out his priorities, hence the, "such a fine line between the things you want, and the things that you need." And once again, he's not going to sleep, he's staying out, because he doesn't want to go back. Then the chorus, describing what he's doing, drinking to the point where he doesn't care about anything, nothing is going to get him down, he's already there. He's seeing people that might have been past friends, but the relationship probably ended with a brutal fight, so even thought Nate is hurt, he's trying to show them he doesn't need them ,ans he's going to prove to them everybody has little ruts here and there, but hes fine. The next verse; He's always having heartache for the past relationships he's had, and feels bad for himself, so while drunk, he goes and finds someone who seems to be an extraordinary case, but when he wakes up, they aren't anything like he thought, hence "we fall asleep to revolution, but wake up next to a sad excuse". And he says people get in their own way, not taking the chances they should, and blocking out their potential. Back to the staying out... Then Nate becomes afraid that he is just revolving around the sad part of things, "im scared that i'm becoming a satellite on the saddest part of the moon"He has become aware that he is revolving around the dark side. Convinced that everyone is against him, even if he once thought they weren't. Then he says he has a feeling that it'll turn out ok-no, better than it's been eventually, and he's fighting hard to let the sun shine on him and stay positive. Hope this helped!! |

There are some nights I hold to every note I ever wrote Some nights, I say, "Fuck it all!" Stare at the calendar Waiting for catastrophes, imagining they'd scare me Into changing whatever it is I am changing into... And you have every right to be scared. 'Cause there are some nights I hold you close, pushing you to hold me Or begging you to lock me up, never let me see the world Some nights, I live in horror of people on the radio Tea parties and Twitter, I've never been so bitter And you, why you wanna stay? Oh my God! Have you listened to me lately? Lately, I've been going crazy... And you, why you wanna stay? Oh my God! Have you listened to me lately? Lately, I've been fucking crazy... There are some nights I wait for someone to save us But I never look inward, try not to look upward And some nights I pray a sign is gonna come to me But usually, I'm just trying to get some sleep... Some nights! OK NOW THAT WE HAVE THE RIGHT SONG..... I think it's pretty basic, these are things that keep Nate up all night, he thinks about the kind of person he is, wonders if he's crazy, and wonders why his significant other stays with him at all. when he refers to "the people on the radio"i think he's just pointing out what society has come to, he doesn't want to listen to the radio anymore because he is tired of hearing all these terrible things, and more upset no one is doing anything, just being self absorbed and tweeting, etc im sorry if this wasn't the greatest...i mean, my interpretation is pretty loose, but i also think it's basic, i mean, the song is pretty easy to understand, it's mostly nate's night thoughts, and him thinking he's going crazy. |

| fun. – C'mon (Fade) Lyrics | 9 years ago |

It starts as "it's getting late, tonight"and i interpert this as Brendon sort of saying he's running out of time, he can't find his way home, he doesn't have a comfortable place where he can just be. "i feel like i am falling down a rabbit hole, falling for forever" He feels lost, hence the rabbit hole, he's in a downward spiral, and he doesn't know where to go. NExt he's saying he doesn't really know what he'd do without this girl, she is what's keeping somewhat sane. When Nate starts with "if i should die tonight, may i first just say i'm sorry..."He's apologizing for not doing a well enough job, and not sticking to his plans, overall he is upset he hasn't gotten far, "nobody seems to know my name". He is telling the girl not to leave him alone, because he needs her. Then he refers to the fact that nothing is working out for him, "Everything falling down around me," So he is going to explore the possibilities, and his potential. The rest of it is pretty straight forward messages, leaning o eac hother for support, e.t.c hope this helped! |

| fun. – To All the Girls I've Slept With Lyrics | 9 years ago |
| i think these are pretty easy to understand, but i just take it as Nate being frustrated, and asking the girls he's slept with why they don't take a liking to him, and why they treat him differently. | |
