Bathory – Song To Hall Up High Lyrics 9 years ago
In Norse and Germanic myth the dead go to one of several places, this song is about calling to the one eyed god way up high to open the gates. Odin is the literal father of important gods, such as Thor, and All-Father to the whole of creation, divine and human. He doesn't open the gates for the gods to the mortals, he opens the gates for the mortals to enter the gods. Basically a much more spiritual an unsafe journey.

Beings that live deep in the heart of forests,They were thought to be gentle and helpful to humans, helping those traveling through their woods unless crossed. Huntsmen and woodcutters were especially at risk of the Wood Wives’ wrath for these men interfered with the balance of nature by killing animals and chopping down trees. in truth, Germanic has the Wood Wives classified as beautiful fairies. Fairies that occasionally drink blood and kill those that meddle in their forests.

Bathory – Nordland Lyrics 9 years ago
I think this is about the Fairy Tale of Norland It is said that the mountains that line the coast of Nordland feature very strange shapes. Because they are actually trolls that have been turned to stone, when the sun rose above the coastal horizon. All the trolls were turned to stone where they stood – and there they will stand until the end of the word. IT is song of the story of the drama of passion and jealousy that played out in the region.
