To me this is about suburban life and how creepy it really is that people think their lives have meaning and substance. The faces the looks in the video. It really hammers this point home. Its like a dark version of Pleasant Valley Sunday by The Monkees. Chris Cornell grew in the burbs and hated the mentality. I myself do as well. People in an environment such as this will do anything to as they say "keep up with the joneses". |
