I love the fact that she's acting while saying "I have a reservation! What do you mean is not in the computer?". It seems like she's going straight to hell (and she got a lot of friends there). "Act of Contrition" is almost a reversed version of "Like a Prayer", including the lyrics. "Like a Prayer" is the first track of the album and Madonna's a religious person in the begging. "Act of Contrition" is the last track, in the end of the abum Madonna's not happy about not having her name in the list to heaven. I think this is a sarcastic song about hypocrites and church's moralism. |

Madonna said that "Like a Prayer" is an album inspired by her religious mother, who passed away when Madonna was a kid. So I think this is just an homage to her mom, not a song about giving a blowjob. Note that no one cares: "Like a Prayer" is my favorite song ever! |

"What I make is what I am" - I think the song is about hate. Not exacly and just hate, but people doing hateful things. Like everyone already said, there's some Charles Manson quotes. Charles's a hateful person, maybe his quotes in the music is an representation of him to exemplify the idea of hate. |
