I think the song may refer to the Dick Francis thriller ‘Reflex’ 1989. In that book the hero is an orphan (a lonely boy), a jockey (I’m on a ride, valentine - a famous fence in the Grand National) and a photographer who uses his darkroom skills to uncover the secrets of a murdered photographer (treasure in the dark).
However, it’s not a terribly coherent lyric to say the least. |
