I think it's definitely metaphorical, but also probably directly related to Yorke's distrust of vehicles as well. It's a great song in part because it works on both levels. |

Personally, I think this is one of Wilco's most powerful songs, which is saying a lot. It's conflicted and intense without overdoing it. It's right up there with Misunderstood and Ashes of American Flags in my book. Has a different feel than just about any other Wilco song also. |
