I'm pretty sure this song is about something else but for me my relation to the lyrics is about judgment which includes some sort of passive aggressive retaliatory behavior. It seems one person is speculating or judging the subject about something and starting to play games on that person and passively mistreat them for whatever the judgment is. The subject has intuition that this is going on . The subject does not want to retaliate with the same behavior back. One day the other person is in need maybe because of their own behavior or the way they judge people but this person indirectly hurt themselves. The subject decides not to say "see", as this is very immature and they do not really want to hurt the other person. The subject does not feel above the other person either. Everyone has faults. But also a decision has been made to not feel the need to know this person anymore. The subject is sort of torn because they want to be a good person and not hold a grudge on the other person but sometimes all you can do is to walk away and hope for the best for the other person. The subject just wants to let life flow as is and let that person realize their own mistakes but also they know or feel the other person has taken stabs at them. This is the raw deal, when you treat everyone you can well and some people decide to punish you for having a different personality. So, in my opinion the subject is biting their tongue and taking the high road and not stooping to someone elses level. Its probably not what the song is about but this is how i relate to it. |

I personally think this song is about feelings of guilt, denial and turmoil for caring about someone who society thinks you should not care about based off all the unwritten rules of love. |

I think this song is about a guy who is hanging out with his woman and her friends and he's cracking some jokes but the other girls think the jokes are tasteless or rude while obviously the guy thinks the other girls are uptight. The jokes create strife and each set of people are now at some sort of odds with each other. |

@[fullspeedhalfblind:17371] i think the 9669 is a metaphor representing the intertwining of personalities involved. if you flip a 9 its a 6, same shape so a lot in common but different enough. Now placing a 9 by a 6 you have two contrasts which are very similar. Further you take 96 and place it in reverse by something again similar, 69. Again opposites attract but still opposites that look like they belong together but maybe not. Its a brilliant metaphor. |
