Taken as close to 100% literally as possible, this is about a person going through sexual transition therapy. Verse 1 is about dysphoria, and the decision to go through with the therapy. The pre-chorus is a bit odd in this context, though it could be interpreted as coming out. The chorus is pretty clearly the, well, surgery. Verse 2 is the transition process, or the "metamorphosis" if you will. |
