To start off this song is like bomb I know it might be weird, but we all know that Tyler is Christian and I feel this song has a lot of references towards that. (The reason I said it might be weird is if you're not very religious) "I'm taking over my body, back in control no more shotty" I think this is him saying that he is stronger than depression now and that he's come out, and I feel 'no more shotty' Is him trying to say like "no more, im done" I don't know how to say this but i feel he's trying to say it in a way that everyone will understand like when i see 'shotty' i first thought alcohol, and now i think it fits in, some people don't get that depressing state and how he is trying to interpret that he is ready or has come out so he put it in that way to say like "i'm stopping drinking" but what he means is depressed? i don't know really. "You should take my life, you should take my soul" At first I thought it was talking to someone, and now I feel he's saying that to God. "You are surronding all my surroundings" When you're in church, you're told that God is always there and everywhere. "twisting the kaleidoscope behind both of my eyes" This actually makes a lot of sense if this song is about Christianity because like (i don't know how to say this lol) you are given your eyes by God, and I feel 'kaleidoscope' is a reference to his eyes? Now, "Entertain my faith" I honestly don't know why I get emotional everytime I hear those words, I feel like those three words make so much sense and I'm just like "JHdisjejshsjGsk wHOA" and i just can't explain how much this song means to me. Anyway, this was just my opinion and i usually don't get into religion much and the song might be something totally different lollll |

| This is actually about a classmate of Tyler's that committed suicide. When I first heard this, song and the meaning I actually bawled my eyes out. The pain he goes through and everything he had witness just breaks my heart and I just honestly feel so bad, the lyrics, the tone, it sounds like and we all know that he would do anything to get that classmate back and i feel that just leaves him with the feeling that it was something he did because that's what i get sometimes. "And I can't believe it has to be this way you know we say it seems to me like it was just the other day i saw your face, i saw your light, you ran the race, you fought the fight" This means so much, the way he worded this how he/she fought and it seems like they couldn't take it anymore, and he still remembers them, "Somebody told me they saw you cry and break down Do you know how hard that is to get around and think about" Saying that Tyler cares so deeply for them to see them just the little bit of sad or upset gets himself upset and whenever he thinks about this, it hurts him. "4:05 with teary eyes and then i write this song" I think that he might've found out during the night, and then it hits him at that time and begins writing? (i'm also sorry if my spelling isn't that good i'm crying while writing this but i'll be ok (: ) I want to say so much more but i don't want to keep this going for much longer. :)) Stay alive my frens |-/ | |

Personally, this song means so much to me so here's my opinion :D 'You say things with your mouth, cobwebs and flies come out' I think that's Tyler's way of saying that he knows (whoever this is directed to, or maybe the clique idk) that you're lying about how you really feel. 'I hear a second voice behind your tongue somehow' I think that's trying to say that he knows that you're lying and he knows what you're thinking 'Luckily i can read your mind, flies and cobwebs unwind' Again, he knows what you're thinking and if you open up, it'll be easier for people to help you (I also think this is linked to not giving into suicidal thoughts (: ) "They will not take you down, they will not cast you out" Saying if you tell someone, they most likely will understand and try to help 'Dear friend here we are again pretending to understand how you think your world is ending' I think that means like that we don't all have the same problems, and some people will try to understand but they won't 'Sending signals and red flags in waves, its hard to tell the difference between blood and water these days' I think that means like you're trying to discreetly send signals of what you're feeling and it won't work, you have to tell someone. And, 'it's hard to tell the difference between blood and water these days' I think that's linked to suicidal thoughts and that so many people feel the same so they'll understand (bc ill nerd out, all the water in the Earth? that's what i'm thinking lol) 'I'll pray that one day you'll see the only difference between life and dying is one is trying and that's all we're called to do so try to love me and i'll try to save you" This line means so much to me, i think it's Tylers way of saying that He wants you to see that no matter how hard it is, you have to try to live because we were put here to live, and to throw it away would be pointless. 'Won't you stay alive? I'll take you on a ride, i will make you believe you are lovely' I think that's saying that If you stay alive, you'll have more of a chance of achieving everything you want to do and more, that there's so much out there "Your redemption won't grow stale, we are now just setting sail" This means the world to me like sOMEONE PUT THIS INTO WORDS, but what i see it meaning is pretty self explaitory, you are now justs getting started and if you give in, you won't see that it's temporary and it will get better. (Ex. Tyler never thought he would make it past 18, but now he's 28 and living his dream. If that's not proof that it gets better idk what is) "I'm coming clean" yIKES IM EMOTIONAL but i think it means like in his and whoever this effects' pov that you're coming clean of all you did (makes more sense if you're Christian, that's all i'm gonna say) 'God hit me straight on" This can come about two ways, if it's like that^ I think it means that God has changed his life and he will yours If it's "God, hit me straight on" I think that's him saying "i'm ready to change, make a difference in my life" aNYWHOOSIES, (People don't say that anymore?) That was my opinion :))) |

| I honestly think that this is somehow a prayer to God. And about all their songs, I think they're a bit harder to understand if you're not Christian, but that's probably just me. Anyway, "Somebody catch my breath" I feel like that's a way of Tyler saying to God, to help him. "I'm a goner" Tyler probably feels alone like nobody cares about him, or just needs someone. (I know he has Jenna and Josh, but I also think that since he wrote this when he was 17, he still feels the same or wanted to make the song better) "Don't let me be gone" I think that's his way of saying that through all of his suicidal thoughts, his struggles, and everything that he's gone through that even through those times, he still has so much faith and he doesn't want to run out of it and he wants someone, (most likely God) to make sure he doesn't fall apart at the seams. I feel like March To The Sea has a bit of the same meaning with, "Follow me instead" which is what I feel Tyler knows that he shouldn't give in to his thoughts and end it all, but to follow God's ways. Again, this is just my thoughts. And, isn't crazy how the littlest line or verse can say so much? | |
