Well I think this song is about taking control of your life and this is why. In the beginning of the song he talks about the old adage of grabbing the bull by the horns which is like grab life ball the balls and you control it. But then it contradicts and says basically nobody tells you how to get ahead or go from there to further success in your life. Then when fate is pulling you like in life the more decisions you make in your life it leads to others so when you walk through one door others are there and you have to keep going forward regardless if you do nothing or choose a different route so in the song it says the best path is the hardest earned which is saying the path you should go is the hardest one and in my life I am a victim of not choosing the hardest path not because I can't or couldn't do it it is because I fear failure. And it talks about the struggle and you try to keep your cool but when the times of uncertainty come you have to be the bull be hard charging and you take control of your life and you go out there and kick life's ass so you can come out on top. |

This song should be taken metaphorically. This murder scene should be related to a break up which makes sense because a bad break up can make you feel dead inside. In his opening lines he states that he has been betrayed basically. This happens a lot in a break up he says that the people he loved maybe a specific female in general broke up with him or cheated on him to be more specific. As for the chorus he states he had been left behind and left for the rain to wash away. Maybe this could say that he was left to be forgotten about in that relationship. But when she does come back but he had been hurt so bad that he doesn't have enough in him to forgive because he is empty with emotion. Which would make sense why they would choose a chalk outline because you have physical outline but you're empty inside. The second verse is about this female being so savage to break his heart that when she wants him again he will not be there because metaphorically his body is gone and he will be just a chalk outline. |
