I must agree with that intepr. At first I thought the Biblical allusions were just metaphors, but I think it's actually referring to the Bible. I will disagree on some of the quote interpretations though. "An unwelcome show Of steady undertow" An undertow is a rip current that drags you down in the water, so I think this statement is about how religion is dragoing society down to drown. "You'll make 'em watch while you go down in flames Self-inflicted pretty little martyr If forcing empathy Is as clever as you can be We'll gladly watch while you go down in flames Burn baby burn" This reminded me of the Buddhist monks who set themselves on fire to protest the Vietnam war, and by doing so we're forcing others to empathize with them. However, I that is just used as a metaphor to describe Jesus. God / Jesus is the one that got himself crucified, and made everyone watch as he died, so people would be forced to empathize with him and see him as a god that would sacrifice himself to save others. However Blue Stahl responds by saying that if the only way he can get our attention and worship is by tormenting himself, we will merely watch him die and ignore his message. |

| Dope – nothing for me here Lyrics | 8 years ago |
| I believe this song is about someone who has hit rock bottom and wants to commit suicide. He has nothing going on for him in life, so now he wants to run away (kill himself) | |

Shit tier lyrics but anyways here we go. My view is the same as everyone else on how veterans (Iraq in particular) have to cope with reintegrating into society. But my interpretations differ a bit on the lyrics. "I did my time and I want out." Pretty self explanatory. Soldier did his enlistment and finished. "Packaging subversion Pseudo-Sacrosanct perversion" Sacrosanct means holy, and unquestionable. I think this line means that people are afraid of speaking out against the war because it would be unpatriotic of them to criticize the war after so many troops died fighting it. "Go drill your deserts, Go dig your graves Then fill your mouth With all the money you will save" This line is about how US troops are dying for someone else to make money, in this case it would be Oil Corporations who are literally drilling for oil in the desert. "I'm done, it has begun. I'm not the only one." He's fed up with the war, and he's not the only veteran feeling this way. "And the rain will kill us all, Throw ourselves against the wall But no one else can see, The preservation of the martyr in me" I differ from everyone else in this interpretation of the quote. I choose to take a literal meaning of this quote. By "rain will kill us all" I think they are talking about it "raining" bombs and they literally throw themselves against the wall to take cover from the bombs. This sums up just about every war and I think it's a nod to how if we keep fighting wars, we will all die. "Oh, there are cracks in the road we laid, But where the temple fell, The secrets have gone mad. This is nothing new, But when we kill it all, The hate was all we had. Who needs another mess? We could start over, Just look me in the eyes and say I'm wrong. Now there's only emptiness, But I'm missing something. I think we're done. I'm not the only one." This entire verse is about how combat veterans feel when they come back from war. They suffer from PTSD and various mental health issues and are unable to cope with civilian life. "The limits of the dead, The limits of the dead, The limits of the dead, The limits of the dead," This verse is talking about how once we die, it is too late to go back and change anything and death is really the end of our existence. "Fake Anti-Fascist Lie. I tried to tell you," I think this line is a reference to the justification used to invade Iraq in the first place, and how the government lied about Iraq being a threat to America. "But your purple hearts are giving out." I think purple heart is a reference to the purple heart medal. I think this line means people only now regret entering Iraq, after so many soldiers either died or got injured fighting it, hence the purple heart. "Can't stop a killing idea if it's hunting season. Is this what you want? I'm not the only one." I think this line means something along the lines of, "We already got this deep into the war, it's too late for us to pull out now.". |

| Attila – Party with the Devil Lyrics | 8 years ago |

This song is highly critical of religion and how it controls people. "So what, you don't agree with the things that I do And you always accuse me" This line is about how about how the Church always tries passing judgement and calling for the restriction of other people's freedom and tries getting everyone to conform to them. "I can never ever be a perfect fucking image of what want" This line is about how people shouldn't conform to the lives the church wants them to live and live their lives as they please. "And nobody can ever live forever Get over it I'm ready now" My interpretation is that this line is talking about how the church promises people with an eternal afterlife as a reward, but the afterlife simply doesn't exist and people shouldn't expect to live an eternity with God. "And it goes on and on, and on, and on, and on, and fuck it Six, six, six Party with the devil, bitch Rage-aholics Anonymous Fill your cups We're dancing with the devil He'll drink you under the table Fire burning in your lungs So drink up And now the devil's inside me I feel better than I ever have before" These lines are a representation of the main tenets of Satanism. In this chorus, Attila rejects God and decides to take the side of Satan instead. Because, while God will punish you for not living the life he wants you to live, the Devil is accepting and supportive of people who decide to live their lives as they please, think for themselves, and don't just blindly follow the words of others. "Come on, get up and we'll party with the devil And the party never stops Until you're on my fucking level It's another night alive Another reason we can break shit Fuck another hot bitch My initials are six, six, six Fuck you" The ending chorus is basically encouraging people to live a life of pleasure (sex, drugs, and rock & roll). If according to the Church, God wants you to live a boring and uneventful life, then party with the Devil instead! |

This song is a pretty straight forward "fuck you" to religion. "Fiction you speak with" is obviously talking about various religious texts and "convinced an afterlife is cursed with the burden to kill for admission" is a nod to how most wars and mass executions were due to religious reasons. "Book in the hand not the hand of the children" refers to how parents indoctrinate their children and care more about pleasing their gods than they do about taking care of their children. And of course the Chorus is talking about how God is nowhere to be seen, yet people continue to fight for their own version of gods and how all these conflicts could end if a God just showed up once (of course he never has and never will). |
