| I see this song highlighting some of the intrapersonal conversation regarding addiction. The idea of relationship is heavy as previously noted, but it takes a deeper meaning in saying well fuck it let's play into the addiction (I.e. sex, drugs, booze, whatever.). Face it, the dudes a rockstar. I believe he's playing into the role here, as he should, but it's his Intrapersonal agreement to the systemic self he has created. I think it's brilliant writing. | |

Rather or not it is meant, this is Nietzsche's Genealogy of Morals (GM). The priestly morality is represented by the obvious object of the one being spoken to. Phil becomes this warrior by this interpretation is the GM. The idea of Walk fits very nicely with an aphorism Nietzsche uses to show self-actuality—never trust a thought while sitting or in rest. Much like the warrior in GM, movement becomes the activity that presses the mind forward. I don't find that antithetical to Phil's thoughts knowing his battles of depression. To help, the word "Belong" would mean become a warrior instead of a priestly little bitch. Don't be something your not! |
