Yes – Siberian Khatru Lyrics 7 years ago
@[jimakin:25126] You're completely wrong. Like many of Jon Anderson's lyrics, this is an expression of his ideals regarding the unity of humanity. Siberians suffering through their winter (which is what he says Khatru means) are still exactly like us.

Anderson intentionally creates sound sculptures of his lyrics, organizing them as much to sound beautiful as for their meaning, but this only makes the poetry more impressionistic, not meaningless at all.

It's not that Anderson's lyrics lack intrinsic meaning, it's just that you're too dunderheaded to recognize that the meaning simply escapes you.

Grand Funk Railroad – I'm Your Captain Lyrics 8 years ago
It's odd that nobody's commented on the obvious basis of the song. Whatever the secondary meaning woven into it about drugs, or the slavery of conscription, et cetera, it starts with Mutiny on the Bounty.

The Marlin Brando film of that name was famous just a few years before the song.

Everything in the song fits perfectly with it, including the Captain set adrift on the sea (you can hear the sea behind him), who had to gradually sail home to England...getting closer to his home.
