She's seeing this guy. Maybe they're not in a serious relationship. She's waiting for a signal that make her feel more secure that he feels the same way. Sometimes we feel a strong conection whit one particulary person but that doesn't mean the other is gonna have the same feelings. She think of him more often and hope that maybe he is reciprocating this love but his mind is in another place. But in deep she knows he's kind of a cool boy. Someone popular, who likes to meet new people, who like to be more free or not comitte to anyone, even if she just want to hang out whit him o just see him more often. In my opinion is about dreaming about being successful and being able to move from your hometown. "Dreams of escape keep me awake" "It's a sick sick city But it's never gonna make me insane" But it seems that he speaks in a pessimistic tone "I'm never gonna get out and make it away I'm a stone dead tripper Dying in a fantasy" "Too young kid you're gonna get hit Looks like your never gonna make it" Maybe he's talking about another person or himself when he was young. I think this song is about a person who always goes from one relationship to another relationship (which may be a toxic relationship or not) and thinks love is to fulfill every requirement of his/her partner. With the passage of time that person feels lost and decides to find something better. The real problem is that he/she does the same every time he/she is with someone new and never realize what love really is. I suppose he/she doesn't loves himself/herself and I think it's very important love yourself to be able to love another person Sorry for my english :) |
