| GREAT bass. \n\nIt is typically the first song that pops into my head when I want to cheer myself up in the morning to bring good spirits to work. It\'s magic.\n\n¡AVE, Bradley! | |

I wanted to write about this song because the other day I listened to it in the supermarket and today it appeared again in my random 'all music' list and this coincidence reminded me that I really liked it -back in the day- and I'd like to honor that, even when now I would ignore the song completely. It is about a young person, a very young, harmless or probably naif person; and these things make him very vulnerable. I mean, he is someone who is surpassed by his feelings and the demands of the world and one who does not know how it would be to feel the opposite. His anguish is his body telling him that this is not the right way to feel. He intuits that the others have the powers that he himself lacks but doesn't have a clue about which are those. The girl he loves is perhaps a little less confused than he is on this respect, and that is why he needs her closeness, because her influence would help him gain the power or knowledge he's lacking. Her estrangement will be "a beautiful light" because she embodies the meanings that he is in need to catch, after all. It is the song of someone with deep desires to possess himself. Now I read that Chaplin or someone said it is about seeing everybody progresses while one does not. For sure. I'd add that the problem is not that this person does not identify himself with the others' idea of progress. The problem is that he himself has not yet discovered -or even worst- has not yet assumed his own. That's it. |

This song brought me two sensations. The first is that it was about a strange or indecipherable passion. The other is that this was a third parties story where what stood out was the form of the story. What mediated between one and another was that i read the lyrics, (English is not my first language.) I believe that some details in the lyrics make discard love as central axis of the song. Probably the lover maintains some idolatries that are the ones that precisely bring him closer to that woman. |

@[sublincuvana:19620] Well, addiction is just one of the self-destructive mechanisms that a person can develop (by genes or parenting or a mixture of the two). that kind of sensitivity, which I believe is expressed in this song, would be there anyhow, at least in general terms, even if his addiction would not have opted for heroine. but talent is a thing that not all self-destructive have. to describe Brad's I agree with you we could call him a god. |
