I think the closest interpretation is by mcboom. This song was written after Jimi and his then girlfriend whose middle name was Mary had a fight over lumpy mashed potatoes. During the fight she threw pots and pans and broke dishes, then left for a few days. Jimi wrote this song for her while she was gone those few days. I think the lyrics best reflect his thoughts over the senseless argument and the fact that he missed her after she was gone. |
