I realize this song was primarily intended to be about divorce. However, when I listen to it I think about going through an eating disorder. On the inside I desperately wanted help and wanted my parents to not give up, but but on the outside it was tearing us apart. Also, as someone mentioned, the words "I'm a little unsteady" can have a double meaning (unsteady emotionally, and for me, weak and sick from not eating). That's why I think it is such a beautiful and meaningful song, because it can apply to many different tough circumstances that families go through. |
