| Youth Lagoon – Mute Lyrics | 2 years ago |
| I think that this song is about death and mortality, that when we are young we do not care about the fact that we will die. We are living in the reality, in the reality where we do not have infinite time, but we do not care, and we burry and ignore this knowledge of mortal existence. | |

I do not know why to confuse atheism with the rejection of the curch. There is no correlation between the corruption of the church and the existence of God. If there was a God, that would not mean that the church could not be full of corrupt people. Likewise a church free of corruption would not prove the existence of God. Atheism is a strange thing. You can be atheist and at the same time longing for God. I think this song is the voice of a man who feels the pain of the lack of God. יְשַׁעְיָהוּ - God is salvation. No God, no salvation. |

I think this song is about God, or about our ambivalent relationship to God. The man is - like any other creature - an animal, and All I Need is full of very strong pictures describing how this animal is related to the Lord. The Creator left us here alone, without any help, like the owner leaves his/her dog in the hot car. We need our Master more than any other thing or person in the universe, but we are just ignored, we are high and dry. The man is the middle, the paragon of animals, the crown of creation, but we are forgotten by our Father. We are always returning to God, we are desperately seeking the light, we are constantly hovering around this Divine Being like a moth around the lamp. We have no chocie, because there is only one God, the only God. There are no other gods. There is no "right" and "wrong", just God's will, and God decided to shape our Kosmos like it is. Both The lyrics and the music of All I Need remain immanent, and never transcend. For example: There are no angels, just moths. All we need is God, and salvation. |
