actually SpeCiAlBleND540, i believe the numbers were closer to 3000, so maybe it is you who should be getting the facts straight? and while i don't completely agree with Wasted either, possibly he was trying to highlight the how and the why of the attacks, (how could they have slipped through airport security and why would any group of people want to kill 3000 innocent people) ... and for once not comment on the outcome?
just a thought, but this song is very much not 9/11 ... i believe pravdawglerz analysis was very insightful and i'm inclined to go with his idea. great song though, truly great. |

for a song that is nine and a half minutes... only piano, vocals, drums, bass and a tamborine... and that only has about two different sections... for some reason it is unbelievably beautiful and i never grow tired of it.
for everyone who bashes the song as mainstream and whatnot, not only is this song far from mainstream--yes i know it's part of the new 'emo' crazy--but if you cannot look past who listens to the song, who finds it appealing and meaningful, how can you consider yourselves 'true emo' fans, or even true music fans? this song is beautiful to me and i was absolutely shocked when a month or two ago i checked the statistics and it was the number one viewed lyric of all time. i thought very few people had heard it, especially because it's so rare and hard to come by, and i was not disappointed. i was glad that so many people liked such a good song. good for something corporate, the have a lot of fans... i'm in a band and i know that a fan is a fan, and i doubt they knew that 50,000 people knew this song. so what that everyone can relate? that's a good thing. it makes the song appealing. if you don't want to hear people talk about their boyfriend of girlfriend and their breakup, don't bother reading their posts. this song is amazing and i think it says a lot about songmeanings and its users if this is the most popular song of all time. simply beautiful. makes me wish i wrote it ;D

umm.. i believe the lyrics are a bit incorrect. i've been unable to truly figure out what he's saying at all points, and i think there were a few times i was incorrect. fix my correction if i was wrong.
also this song is about the camp where the singer used to go to, i believe. but yeah, there are gigs there as well. |

do the lines 'her hips / her hips are like seashells / and i can hear the ocean when i listen' have any sexual connotations? or am i just a sick kid ;D ... i dunno, it could be metaphorical.. like the sound of the ocean is calming, so he rests his head in her lap and is calmed... or it could be a much more sexual connotation. what does everyone else think? |
