"He asked me for a favor Asked me a question Asked me to make an exception" I feel like this has to do with intimate relations. He wanted her to make an exception, he wanted to be the exception. Maybe she didn't plan on sleeping with a man until she was married, and she would not make an exception for him so he gradually became more frustrated with the relationship. "Said he'd been thinking it over Said he's had a change of heart" This is probably when he started doubting the relationship, that it wouldn't work if he would have to wait. Maybe the change of heart was his feelings towards her, as she would not give him what he wanted his anger overpowered his feelings of love for her. "Said he's finally made up his mind He wonders if it's not too late" So he made up his mind to end the relationship, and hopes that it's not to late for each of them to go their separate ways. He isn't willing to wait for her, and she must have gotten so angry that he would leave her for such a dumb reason. Angry that he "removed himself as an available option on her love menu," (thank you for clarifying the meaning of "Eighty-Six" JacquesKoningon) simply because she wouldn't sleep with him. At least, that's what I think. |
