Candlebox – Sometimes Lyrics 9 years ago
I agree for the most part with Nylo, however, my interpretation of the "Somehow we'll find a way, we'll paste it back together. These ripped out pages of old coloring books, where your gold is silver, my blue is gray. It's all held together by cellophane tape" is a little different.
I see those lines as the memories. Often times, memories are represented in black and white. Gold would look silver, blue would look gray. So, in my mind, it's like him trying to hold on to the memories of them, before things fell apart. Holding on to all the little pieces and trying to keep them together, like old photographs that are falling apart. Trying to fit all their little pieces back together, all the reasons why they fell in love in the first place, all the things that made them work. Desperately trying to hold on to SOMETHING between, them with the idea that they can get back to good.
