| This song is clearly about his depression. Basically all of his are. He wants to be better, he no longer wants to be sad anymore, (and what I know I must let go) but "he is holding onto what he knows". Without his depression, he feels almost like an entirely different person, like he is missing something. So instead of letting his depression consume him, he wants to find a way to channel it, this can be different for many people, but he makes it into song. Instead of completely relinquishing his depression, he'd rather turn it into something else, so he makes songs where his depression escapes through. I understand this emotion completely, as why it is my favorite song. | |
